Enterprise Connect 2018

Greetings from Orlando where Enterprise Connect 2018 just concluded. It was a great four days of reconnecting with colleagues, presenting thoughts, and exploring new technologies.

You would already know that if you were in my team-chat application where we’ve been discussing the show. The industry thinks you’ll be there shortly, because every large presenter showed their version of one. Is it hype or reality? Well, to answer that question this year, in a break from my usual style, I’m going to tell you about it instead of having you read about it.

On the last day of the conference I had a great chat with UC Today’s Patrick Watson and fellow industry analyst Tim Banting of Global Data PLC. We discussed our impressions of what we saw. Click the photo below to listen to our thoughts and personal opinions.

That’s it for Enterprise Connect 2018! Look for my next bog (if not sooner) from InfoComm 2018 in June. I’m excited to be deeply involved in the authoring and coordination of that conference, as we’re planning a powerful UC track, and an amazing Emerging Trends day that will include honoring (and listening to) some real industry superstars as this year’s group of Emerging Technology Fellows. We’ll hear from the likes of Pete Putnam, Steve Koenig, Roopam Jain, Evan Kristal and others – and (coming out of retirement for one last appearance) Andrew Davis.
